Archery is a Passion!

Hello My Name is Sherry Forman I am a professional archer.

I have been shooting archery for ten years, hunting and competitive.

Archery has taught me so many things about myself, I have learned to believe in myself, how to obtain the goals that I set. So of my greatest joys have come from archery, such as watching my children grow up shooting a bow, become young adults competing in college. My son has since moved on to the sport of golf, yet I feel that the lessons that he learned in archery will carry over to his new sports.

I love to sit in a deer blind and watch the wildlife. That would have to be the most peaceful times in life, time to reflect and enjoy. Of course hunting brings me great joy I have accomplished so much on my own as a women, things that some do not realize women are capable of such as scouting, picking my location, and following through with field dressing and packing out the animal myself. It is a feeling of great pride in myself. I have hunted white tail deer, turkey, javalina, hogs and I cannot wait to go on my first elk hunt.

As a competitor archery has been a source of joy, frustration and learning. The pro courses are tough and it takes allot of practice and patience with yourself. I have had the experience of winning Shooter of the Year twice, once as an amateur and once as a semi-pro, followed with winning Rookie of the Year in the Pro class. The friends that I have made on the tour will be life long friends. Helping and watching the kids involved in archery to learn and grow with the sport is an awesome feeling. Archery is a life long sport, one that brings joy, friendship and a desire to teach what I know.

I hope that we can continue to bring more women and children into the sport of archery.

It takes each and every individual in the sport introducing archery to a friend neighbor or youngster to keep the sport growing and alive.

So bring a friend, help a child or teach an adult that they can still get out and enjoy life.
